Before bathing, Bow Wags brushes out loose fur and works through any tangles or mats — bathing over mats can actually tighten them, so this step happens first. Matted fur is worked out gently and gradually rather than rushed, since mats pull on skin and can be uncomfortable for a dog when handled carelessly.
